CRAFT ROOM / OFFICE SPACE

It doesn't matter if you are a hobby crafter or have turned your hobby into a business, having a dedicated space for all the crafty things is a total game changer!

If you're like me and space is limited, then you know how it feels to make do with what you have! My current craft room is my basement. This is where I keep all my craft items and run my business. Finding the right storage and items to organize the small corner of my basement was key. Here's what I keep all my small tools like safety eyes, yarn needles, buttons, and all the things that are sure to get lost if I don't' keep them in one spot!

IRIS USA 24 Drawer Storage Organizer

There's nothing more convenient than having your crochet hooks in arms reach when you're working! I also love being able to display my collection of decorative hooks in my crafty space! Here's what I use to organize my crochet hooks that also doubles as a delightful piece of decor!

Wooden Test Tube Rack

The one thing I've gotten really good at is maximizing the small space I have! It’s so important for me to keep my yarn, scissors, crochet pieces, and other crafting tools organized! And when I use up all my horizontal space, it’s time to go vertical! Using your blank wall space is a great way to achieve that! And if you’re looking to achieve an aesthetically pleasing yarn wall in your small space, this is the perfect find!

4 Piece Wooden Pegboard

If you run a crochet or craft business, you know that finding items that make running a business smooth is a must! I’m not a super tech savvy person, but this next find was an absolute breeze to set up and has been easy to maintain! Not only did I find it to be high-quality, but it was the perfect item to help me with my craft markets and crochet patterns! I mean, who doesn’t love easy connectivity and sharp print quality!

Epson EcoTank Et-2800

In our line of work, sitting for extended amounts of time is inevitable! I’m not one to ever sit in a chair like a “normal” person, I always crisscross my legs while I crochet my projects or working at my desk. I searched for a chair that would fit my space but also my style of working! This chair was a true game changer because it ample seating space but also supported various sitting positions! A stylish design that’s also comfortable? Yes please!

TOOLS & ACCESSORIES

As a crochet designer and crochet enthusiast, these are tools and accessories I can't live without! I use them everyday and are an essential part of my craft!

If you crochet, knit, or work with yarn at all in your craft, you know how important it is to have a yarn winder. This nifty gadget helps you transform hanks or skeins of yarn into neat, easy-to-use center-pull cakes. It not only keeps your yarn organized and tangle-free but also allows for smoother crocheting without constant interruptions. With adjustable tension and a sturdy build, a yarn winder can significantly streamline your workflow. Also, remember that yarn wall we talked about making? You can’t have the perfect yarn wall without a yarn winder.

Tapestry needles are a must-have for weaving in ends and adding intricate details to your crochet projects. These needles typically feature a large eye and a blunt tip, making them perfect for working with yarn. However, tapestry needles with a bent tip will change the way you weave in ends!

A good quality crochet hook makes all the difference while crocheting. Trust me, I have tried those crappy, cheap crochet hooks on Amazon and there is a huge difference between those and more expensive but good quality hooks. The best ergonomic crochet hooks out there in my opinion are the Clover Amour Hooks. The ergonomic handles reduce hand fatigue, allowing for longer crochet sessions without discomfort. The smooth, tapered hooks glide effortlessly through yarn, making these hooks a joy to use. Available in a range of sizes, a set of Clover Amour hooks from Amazon is a worthy investment for any crochet toolkit.

I don’t know about you, but I crochet pretty much anywhere I go. Finding a versatile bag I could travel with was a must. The Leudes Yarn Storage Backpack is a stylish and practical solution for carrying your crochet supplies on the go. With multiple compartments and pockets, it provides ample space to organize your yarn, hooks, and other accessories. The durable, high-quality material ensures it withstands daily use, while the backpack design offers hands-free convenience. Whether you're traveling or simply need to keep your supplies organized at home, this bag is a fantastic find on Amazon.

If you have been following me or purchased any of my patterns, you know how much I love crochet plants. So, when I saw these stitch markers, I had to have them. These adorable stitch markers not only help you keep track of your stitches but also bring a bit of nature-inspired charm to your crocheting. Available in various designs, from tiny succulents to leafy greens, these markers are both functional and delightful. A set from Amazon can brighten up your crochet sessions and make counting stitches a breeze.

CROCHET BOOKS

If you crochet, I'm sure you have tons of crochet books. I have stitch dictionaries, crochet pattern books, and so many more crochet-related books! I wanted to share some of the ones that have been pivotal in my crochet journey!

I can’t go without mentioning the first pattern book I ever purchased and what inspired me to start crocheting amigurumi. Whimsical Stitches by Lauren Epsy of A Menagerie of Stitches contains 30 playful and cute, easy-to-follow patterns. My very first crochet project was a jellyfish from a pattern in this book. Whether you are new to crocheting or more experienced, you will love the variety of all these whimsical patterns.

This next book also played a huge role in my crochet plant pattern business. KnotMonsters Potted Plant Edition contains 12 fun and easy to follow crochet amigurumi plant patterns. The best part about these plants is that they require absolutely no care, making them perfect for all those destructive plant parents out there. My absolute favorite pattern to crochet out of this book are the hanging plants. These plants are also some of my best sellers at the craft shows I have participated in.

If you are looking for some instant crochet gratification and patterns with low-sewing, you will love this next book. One-Hour Amigurumi by Melanie Morita-Hu features 40 delightful designs that come together in a flash. There is a pattern for just about any mood or occasion. Whether you would like to crochet a bright and colorful rainbow on a rainy day or a bottle of champagne to celebrate New Years Eve, this pattern book has it all. The pictures in this book are just gorgeous and the pattern instructions are so easy to follow, making this book perfect for beginners.

This next book is one of my favorite resources as a new and now more experienced crocheter. The A to Z of Crochet: The Ultimate Guide for the Beginner to Advanced Crocheter is both great for a new crocheter wanting to learn the most basic stitches of crochet and the more advanced crocheter looking to expand their knowledge of different crochet stitches and techniques. This book has many clear and helpful images to go along with instructions, making it the perfect book for us visual learners. I use this book all the time when thinking of new stitches or techniques I could use in my patterns.

If you own a crochet business, having a good planner is a must. You will find that most planners aren’t tailored to fit all of your crochet business needs. The Work Hard and Crochet More Daily Planner is the perfect way to organize your monthly schedule, day to day to do list, and prioritize your most important tasks. Each day also includes a water tracker, a mood tracker, and a gratefulness spot where you can write what you're grateful for that day. This planner contains up to 3 months of daily to do lists. If you enjoy journaling and reflecting on your achievements, this planner is ideal for you.
